Homeward Bound

Did you know that there are more than 4,500 homeless children in Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools and surrounding communities? And even more living under the poverty line?

Homeward Bound, a Forest Hill Church local outreach initiative, in partnership with various organizations throughout the greater Charlotte area, works to transform the lives of homeless children and their families. Please check events for upcoming volunteer training opportunities.

Beds For Kids
Beds for Kids provides beds and other essential furniture to children's and families in need. Contact Brandon Holmes.

Charlotte Family Housing
Charlotte Family Housing provides homeless working families with housing, support from a social worker and a Hope Team from a local church to assist with their journey to physical, spiritual and emotional healing and wholeness.

A Child's Place
A Child's Place works to erase the impact of homelessness on children in Charlotte Mechklenburg Schools.

Dove's Nest
Dove's Nest, through Charlotte Rescue Mission, gives homeless women with addictions a chance to heal without losing custody of their children. Volunteers are encouraged to serve meals and spend time with residents. Contact Sherry Waters or Shante Anderson.
