Homeward Bound Serve Opportunities
W.I.S.H: The W.I.S.H Program is a collaborative solution designed to eliminate homelessness by rapidly re-housing homeless mothers and their children in decent apartments. These families are empowered through wrap-around services and an encouraging support network or Hope Team. Women’s and couples LifeGroups with prior inner city experience are encouraged to become Hope Teams. Bridges Out of Poverty training is required prior to connecting with a family and will be hosted at Forest Hill on a regular basis.
A Child’s Place: A Child's Place is a local organization striving to eradicate the effects of homelessness on children and their education. Forest Hill would like LifeGroups or individuals to mentor homeless children in CMS by becoming breakfast and lunch buddies at Walter G. Byers Elementary School, the home school for the Salvation Army Women’s Shelter. By committing 20 minutes a week, you can make a difference in the life of a homeless child.
Life Groups with previous inner city service experience are encouraged to contact Jen Cameron, Homeward Bound Ministry Director, for more information.
